About Ayasa: Shadows of Silence

Ayasa: Shadows of Silence is a dark-themed adventure game blending platforming and puzzle-solving. Developed by Aya Games, it launched in November 2025 across PC, consoles, and Linux. The story follows Ayasa as they cross six corrupted realms, Faith, Hope, Love, Greed, Indifference, and Betrayal, each a test of wit and reflexes. Light and shadow mechanics form the core of gameplay, with players switching between states to bypass obstacles and solve environmental puzzles. The single-player experience focuses on restoring balance to a collapsing world through precise platforming and creative problem-solving.

Gameplay

The game alternates between timed platforming and logic-based puzzles. Light and shadow are used to manipulate environments: shadow forms grant access to dark areas, while light reveals hidden paths or repels hazards. Each realm introduces new mechanics, like timed switches or gravity-defying jumps. Sessions often involve navigating vertical spaces with tight controls, then pausing to decode puzzles using the game’s minimalist toolkit. Movement feels responsive but punishing, with deaths resetting progress in short segments. Puzzles escalate in complexity, often requiring backtracking after acquiring new abilities.

What Players Think

Ayasa holds a 4.1/5 on PlayPile, with 72% of players completing the game. Average playtime is 9.5 hours, though 38% report over 12 hours due to backtracking. Community moods skew eerie and contemplative, with 65% noting the art style as "visually haunting." Reviews praise the inventive puzzles but criticize repetitive platforming: "The shadow-light system is genius, but the climbing sections wear thin." Achievement completion is 61%, with the hardest unlock (Shrouded in Silence) earned by 29%.

PlayPile's Take

Ayasa is best for puzzle lovers who don’t mind methodical pacing. At $39.99, it offers moderate value but may feel overpriced for its 10-hour core experience. The atmospheric design and clever light/shadow mechanics justify the playtime for dedicated fans. Skip if you prefer fast-paced action or open-ended exploration. Achievements add replayability, but most players will stick to the base campaign. Worth a try for its aesthetic and inventive puzzle design.

Storyline

The Inverted World was once a harmonious place where good and evil coexisted, maintained by Tas, the Absolute. But now, darkness threatens to engulf everything, and Ayasa must embark on a perilous journey through the devastated lands of Faith, Hope, Love, Greed, Indifference, and Betrayal. Only by finding the remnants of Tas’s light can Ayasa hope to restore balance and save the world from complete destruction.
