Bubble Bobble is a classic platformer where you and a friend team up to trap monsters in bubbles and pop them. The game mixes simple controls with tricky level design, as you bounce between screens to avoid enemies and collect items. Power-ups like the peacock feather let you fly, while the blue book grants temporary invincibility. The core loop stays straightforward but rewards careful planning, especially in later stages where enemies adapt to your moves. This revamped edition adds 200 levels, more than double the original, with new items and two extra mini-boss fights. Hidden rooms hide bonus points and key items needed for the best ending. The final cutscene received a cinematic touch, but the Super Bubble Bobble mode from the past is gone, now, all levels form one continuous run. While the base game remains a co-op staple, the expanded content keeps it fresh for longtime fans. The Switch port handles the Master System’s original charm without pretension.
