Castle of Blackwater is a 10-player social deduction game set in a magical 2D castle where survival and strategy collide. Players join one of three factions, each with distinct abilities, and work to complete tasks while secretly uncovering rivals. Living players use tools to gather intel and eliminate threats. Those knocked out stay active by collecting souls to buy upgrades for their team. Victory hinges on balancing trust, deception, and timing as you push your faction toward dominance. The castle itself is a character, its shifting layout and hidden dangers forcing constant adaptation. A mix of co-op and competitive play creates tense moments where alliances fracture or solidify. With roots in a mythic history where only the cunning earn magical power, the game blends deduction with resource management. Launching March 25, 2025, it’s built for PC and Mac with cross-platform support, offering a fresh take on multiplayer intrigue. Early access forums show strong engagement around its layered tactics and asymmetric roles.

Storyline

Almost a thousand years have passed since the great Earlwind Axelot discovered the mysterious Blackwater Castle and all of the magical madness that came with it. History tells us that magic itself originated within its walls and that the castle was not built, but that it appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. Ever since its existence, the castle has granted individuals the gift of magic by surviving its challenge and completing its quest. What initially started as Earlwind’s community of followers has since grown to become a sizable village of scholars and challengers. Every year, people from all walks of life flock to Blackwater Village, to devote their lives to study the profound history of the castle and its secrets. Their ultimate goal is to overcome the castle's challenge and be granted the gifts of magic. Occasionally, a group of students will band together to form a temporary alliance. Together they will enter the castle and attempt its quest, knowing that failure results in death.
