Dust to Dusk follows Jun Tsukimiya, a chairman trapped in a Tokyo office as night falls and a ghostly child lurks in the halls. This visual novel adventure unfolds through a "Zapping" mechanic that lets you switch perspectives between characters, uncovering their secrets and motivations. The story hinges on rumors of a vengeful spirit tied to the company’s eerie shutdown at 7 PM. While the true ending is reachable without switching viewpoints, exploring all four conclusions, and their varying degrees of resolution, requires digging into side threads. No combat or action elements exist here, just dialogue choices and environmental storytelling. The game leans into slow-burn tension rather than jump scares, letting the claustrophobic office setting and fragmented narratives build unease. Players can pause and rewind decisions without penalty, making it a low-pressure way to untangle the mystery. With four endings and a runtime averaging 6-8 hours, the game rewards curiosity about character backstories over frantic play. Its minimalist horror approach has earned a 78% positive rating on Steam, with fans noting the atmospheric pacing and layered script.
Story: Rumors are abound at the Tsukimiya Corporation about a child ghost that wanders the office halls. In fact, the hushed whispers and paranoia have grown so readily that the office now shuts it doors promptly at seven o'clock each night--the same hour this child comes out to play. One night, Jun Tsukimiya, the corporation's chairman, oversleeps at his desk and is left alone on the cusp of dusk. And what does this child say to him when they finally meet? "You know nothing, Jun Tsukimiya." Just what is it that he doesn't know? Whatever it is, the clock is stuck at seven, and he has little choice but to find out.
