Make Me LAG is an indie PC game where your character's actions are tied to the game's frame rate. To move and attack, you deliberately lower the FPS using external tools, open browser tabs, or run other programs. Each drop in performance translates to in-game controls, turning lag into a mechanic. The goal is simple: fight monsters and save the world by manipulating the very technical issues most games try to avoid. Single-player only, with no mercy for high frame rates. This quirky experiment started as a 48-hour jam entry at the Internet Festival Game Jam and took home first prize. Players praise its cheeky concept and the way it flips performance optimization on its head. With minimal polish but maximum weirdness, it’s a short-lived challenge that sticks around in memory. The kind of game that makes you question every setting in your PC’s task manager.

Storyline

You believe that running a game at over 120 FPS is smart? Well, you're WRONG! Make Me LAG is the first game that features a revolutionary new control scheme: your character actions are determined by the game FPS! Use external softwares and other tricks to lower the FPS count and control your character to defeat evil monsters and save the world! Open too many tabs on your browsers, play other games simultaneously, hack the internet, we don't care what you do, as long as you make the game lag! Make Me LAG was created during the Internet Festival Game Jam of Pisa in 48 hours and won the first prize.
