About Match Tree

Match Tree is a puzzle-strategy game by AndiDev, released December 31 2026. It’s a match-3 variant where you align flowers carrots and trees to build structures for characters like a pixie and a witch. The whimsical art style hides a surprisingly strategic core, you need to plan ahead as a wandering fairy drops new flowers and unpredictable sheep eat them. The goal shifts each level: create specific objects like a treehouse or a carrot-powered contraption. It plays on PC and web browsers with a single-player campaign that receives regular updates. The charm is in its quirky characters and the balance between planning and reacting to chaos.

Gameplay

Sessions start with a grid of icons you swipe to match three. Matches generate materials for building the target object. The fairy moves slowly across the board leaving fresh flowers, which can be matched again. But sheep randomly appear to erase flowers, forcing you to adapt. Points from matches unlock map events like revealing hidden items or activating shortcuts. You need to juggle creating resources and defending against disruptions. Controls are simple, tap and drag to rearrange, but timing matters. Later levels introduce layered objectives like building multiple structures or hitting specific point totals. The game feels like a puzzle and a light strategy game at once, with a rhythm that leans more on luck than skill in later stages.

What Players Think

PlayPile players rate Match Tree 4.3/5 on average. 78% gave it 4 or 5 stars, while 22% rated 2 or lower. Average playthrough is 5.1 hours, with 62% finishing the base game and 41% hitting 100% completion. Moods are mostly curious and entertained, with some annoyance. One user wrote, “The sheep are like uninvited guests who won’t stop trashing your party.” Another said, “Love the fairy’s flower trail but the late-game repetition drags.” Critics gave it 81/100, praising creativity but noting pacing issues. Achievement data shows 45% unlock all secrets. The community splits between those who adore its charm and those who find the sheep mechanics frustrating.

PlayPile's Take

Match Tree is best for puzzle fans who like a dash of chaos. The base game is short but satisfying, with regular updates adding new content. The sheep mechanic is divisive, some see it as a clever twist, others as a hindrance. At no cost to try, it’s worth a shot if you enjoy inventive match-3 with a whimsical edge. Completionists should know the 100% run takes 8-10 hours and rewards patience. Not impressive, but its charm and low price make it a solid pick for casual play.

Storyline

It's a match tree game. A fresh approach. Meet the Pixie, the Gnome and the Witch and build them homes. You combine flowers, carrots and trees. But be aware of the SHEEP! The fairy leaves new flowers on every location she touches. You can win, when you create the needed object (shown on the upper center) Some maps have events that get triggered by the points you collect while matching. It's a game we tinker with and updating regularly.
