Ouroboros is a frenetic action game for the NES that puts you in control of a tiny worm trapped in a collapsing time loop. Each cycle starts simple but grows chaotic as odd artifacts spawn to prolong the loop. Your goal is to weave through these obstacles without touching them while the game’s physics gradually accelerate your movement. The closer you get to breaking free, the harder it becomes to control your path. It’s a tense dance between speed and precision that forces you to adapt on the fly. What makes Ouroboros memorable is how it uses its simple mechanics to build relentless pressure. The loop’s ticking clock and increasing momentum create a unique sense of urgency, especially on the NES’ limited hardware. Though made for a game jam, it packs a surprising amount of depth for its short runtime. Players who enjoy tight controls and minimalist but clever level design might find themselves chasing that sweet moment of escape, even if the loop always resets.
You are a small worm, stuck in a time/space loop. The loop was supposed to end in a minute, but weird time artifacts (and some weirder time-bugs) keep appearing, and whenever you collide with them the time loop lasts longer. To make things worse the strange physics of the loop makes you run faster near the end. Try dodging everything and eventually you'll be free!
