Pentominon is a puzzle game where five-square pieces drop into a grid, challenging you to clear lines by filling them completely. The twist lies in the "ignition mode", leaving a single block disconnected from others triggers bonus points that grow over time. Each cleared row contributes to a rhythmic soundtrack that evolves as you play, turning your actions into a live music track. The goal shifts beyond simple line clearing, pushing you to balance strategy and timing to maximize your score. The game’s blend of puzzle mechanics and music generation sets it apart. Players often note how the looping soundscapes feel more dynamic than traditional puzzle game soundtracks. Developed by xisai in 2009, it was later expanded in 2017 as Pentominon Transcription for Xbox One. However the original Xbox 360 version is no longer playable due to the shutdown of the Xbox Live Indie Games platform. Still its core ideas remain fresh for fans of inventive puzzle design.
