Rapid Angel merges 2D platforming and beat 'em up action with three playable characters. Each has distinct combat styles, Natsumi and Ayane favor close-range brawling while Haruna casts long-range spells. Levels shift slightly based on your choice adding replay value. A two-player mode lets one player control a floating ally that assists the main character with attacks and environmental interactions. Split-screen co-op keeps the action tight and responsive despite the 1998 release date. The game stands out for its quirky premise and varied combat. Three core characters plus two unlockables ensure different playthroughs. Co-op mechanics feel surprisingly modern for its era with the second player’s angelic helper offering strategic depth. Originally a PlayStation title it now runs on multiple Sony platforms letting newer audiences tackle its fast-paced levels. The mix of platforming puzzles and punchy boss fights holds up better than most 90s brawlers.
