Signs of Life throws you into a sci-fi survival sandbox where you scavenge resources, craft gear, and navigate hostile alien environments. You play as a survivor on a distant planet, balancing exploration with base-building and combat against unpredictable wildlife. The world mixes hand-crafted zones with procedural elements, ensuring no two playthroughs feel exactly alike. Missions often blur the line between necessity and chaos, you might spend as much time outrunning a pack of feral beasts as you do refining tools to terraform the terrain. The game’s challenge lies in its relentless resource management and physics-based systems. Every weapon, armor piece, or gadget you create requires precise material combinations and timing. While solo play is common, co-op modes let you team up to tackle tougher threats. Community data shows most players struggle with later-game achievements, 14 total, averaging a 12.9% unlock rate. The rarest, “Some kind of Irony,” sits at a punishing 1.8%, hinting at a secret that only a few have unraveled.
Sensing that an apocalyptic war was imminent, the United Nations executed a last ditch plan to save what they could of the human race. 2 crafts were launched, a massive colony ship called the Hephaestus and a smaller, faster scout ship called the Hermes. The destination was a recently discovered earth-like planet with the potential to harbor life located roughly 18 light years away. The Hermes reached the planet first in order to establish a presence in anticipation of the arrival of the Hephaestus.
