The Masters: Survival is a top-down action game where you play as Tana navigating a digital training simulation turned hostile. You’ll slash through waves of Shadow Dwellers using elemental abilities and summonable allies while advancing through levels. Boss battles force you to adapt strategies against towering foes, and a survival mode challenges you to last as long as possible while tracking high scores. Combat feels responsive with a focus on timing and power management. The game stands out for its punchy encounters and retro aesthetic that blends smoothly with modern mechanics. While the story takes a backseat to gameplay, the tension of limited resources and escalating enemy waves keeps things engaging. Community feedback highlights the satisfying progression but notes a lean content pool. At under 10 hours, it’s a brisk run through a system that prioritizes action over depth.
Tana (Katana) is testing the new Virtual Proxy Simulation, which is going to be used for training at a school for elementals, as she fights the evil creatures known as the Shadow Dwellers. She is being helped by her Family and Friends who are outside of the system making sure the simulation goes well. All is not what it seems however as she dives deeper into the system and faces off against an old foe, Master Nether.
