In Transmute Syndrome you play a prisoner with a rare condition that lets you transform into any object you touch. The catch is your ability only works on inanimate items which forces you to think creatively to bypass guards and security systems. Each of the nine levels across three distinct zones challenges you to use your object-shifting skills in new ways whether it’s disguising as a trash can or rerouting laser grids. The game’s twist lies in its limited powerset which turns typical stealth mechanics on their head. Developed in two weeks for Pirate Software Game Jam 15 the game packs fully voiced dialogue and a synth-driven soundtrack that adds atmosphere without overcomplicating things. While short by design the clever level design and niche premise have earned it praise in indie circles for its inventive take on puzzle-based escape scenarios. The stark art style and tight voice acting help sell the absurdity of being arrested for being a shape-shifting paperweight.

Storyline

You have been detained by the Stellar Coalition Police Department for carrying a dangerous disease known only as "transmute syndrome". This condition is said to give the infected an unnatural ability to morph themselves into identical copies of other living beings. However, what they don’t know is that it only applies to inanimate objects, and where you come from, the ability is just as natural as breathing to you. Do you think you can escape?
