About Wrongly Accused

Wrongly Accused is an Adventure and Indie title from Elomelo Games, released on September 30, 2026, for PC. Set in a future where an AI named Lucidia has already solved every crime, the game tasks players with fulfilling Human Intelligence Laws by investigating historical miscarriages of justice. As a recruit at the Agency of Historical Accuracy, you analyze crime scenes, uncover evidence, and deduce the truth behind past crimes. The story spans single-player and co-op modes, with players working alone or with others to solve cases while figuring out a conspiracy in their own time. The game blends historical exploration with deductive problem-solving, asking you to question both past and present systems.

Gameplay

Each session revolves around navigating 3D crime scenes to find clues, cross-referencing evidence in a digital archive, and piecing together timelines and motives. Controls are mouse-driven for exploration, with quick-time events during evidence analysis. Multiplayer lets one player gather items while the other tests theories. Cases range from 1 to 3 hours, with branching outcomes based on your deductions. The core loop involves revisiting scenes with new info, testing hypotheses in a simulation mode, and documenting findings. No combat exists, every decision hinges on logic. The co-op mode introduces split-screen teamwork, but solo play remains focused and methodical.

What Players Think

PlayPile users rate it 8.2/10, with 68% completing all 12 cases. Average playtime is 18.5 hours, and 72% of players report finishing within a week. Community moods are split: 45% find it “curious,” 30% “frustrating,” and 25% “engaging.” A Reddit user called it “a slow-burn mystery that rewards attention to detail,” while a Steam review criticized “repetitive scene navigation.” 41% of players unlocked all 300+ achievements, including a rare “Conspiracy Uncovered” title. Critics praise its educational angle but note a lack of visual flair.

PlayPile's Take

Wrongly Accused is a niche pick for fans of cerebral puzzles and historical intrigue. With no price listed, it’s best approached as a $30-$40 buy if you enjoy methodical deduction over action. Achievements boost replayability, but the single-player mode feels longer than its 20-hour cap. Multiplayer adds fun, but the game’s true strength is its layered storytelling. If you’re patient and hate being wrong, this one’s worth a shot.

Storyline

Wrongly Accused is set in a future where all past and current crime has already been solved by an A.I. known as Lucidia. Due to the government's Human Intelligence Laws, however, each crime must also be solved by human input. You are a new recruit at the Agency of Historical Accuracy where you are tasked with investigating historical miscarriages of justice in order to exonerate the wrongly accused and bring the real perpetrators to light. Explore each crime scene, find the evidence and use your best detective and deduction skills to work out how each crime was committed, why each crime was committed and by whom? Along the way, you will learn more about your own time and may even uncover a conspiracy that is a lot closer to home.
