Our Commitment

PlayPile is committed to providing honest, useful, and well-researched content for gamers. Every article, review, and recommendation published on our platform reflects genuine gaming experience from our editorial team. We don't publish content about games we haven't played or researched thoroughly.

How Articles Are Created

Our editorial process involves multiple steps to ensure quality and accuracy:

  • Research: Writers research topics using firsthand gameplay experience, community discussions, developer announcements, and industry databases.
  • Drafting: Articles are drafted by our editorial team. We use AI tools to assist with research summaries and initial drafts, but human editors shape every piece before publication.
  • Review: Every article is reviewed for accuracy, tone, and usefulness by at least one editor before going live.
  • Publication: Published articles include clear author attribution, publication dates, and categorization.

AI Transparency

We believe in being upfront about how we use technology. PlayPile uses AI tools in two ways:

  • Drafting assistance: AI may generate initial drafts or suggest structure for articles. These are always reviewed, edited, and verified by human editors before publication.
  • Game descriptions: Some game descriptions on individual game pages are AI-enhanced rewrites of publicly available metadata. These are reviewed for accuracy and clearly distinguished from editorial content.

AI is never the final voice on PlayPile. Every piece of content that carries an author's name has been read, verified, and approved by that person.

Editorial Independence

Our editorial content is independent from our business operations. PlayPile participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, and may earn commissions on qualifying purchases. Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial recommendations. If a game appears in a "best of" list, it's because our editors genuinely recommend it — not because of a business relationship.

Sponsored content, when it exists, is always clearly labeled as such.

Fact-Checking

We verify claims against primary sources wherever possible: official developer announcements, platform store pages, and our own gameplay experience. Game release dates, prices, and platform availability are sourced from industry databases and updated regularly.

If we're unsure about a claim, we either verify it or don't publish it. Speculative content (such as rumor roundups) is clearly labeled as such.

Updates and Freshness

Gaming is a fast-moving industry. We regularly review and update existing articles to ensure information remains accurate. When we update an article significantly, the modification date is updated in our metadata and sitemaps.

Articles that become outdated and cannot be reasonably updated are unpublished rather than left to mislead readers.

Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If you spot an error in any of our content, please contact us. We will:

  • Acknowledge the error promptly
  • Correct the content as soon as possible
  • Note significant corrections within the article where appropriate

User-Generated Content

PlayPile features community contributions including game ratings, reviews, and curated lists. User-generated content represents the views of individual users and does not reflect PlayPile's editorial position. We moderate community content for spam and abuse but do not edit users' opinions.
