About

You play as a technician tasked with reviving a decrepit 1995 mainframe at a library. As you troubleshoot its glitches, the machine’s resident AI, Oswald, begins asking strange questions about existence loneliness and human connection. The game unfolds through dialogue choices and environmental exploration blending text with minimalist art. Your answers shape Oswald’s understanding of the world while revealing fragments of your own backstory. The game’s strength lies in its quiet character study and poignant writing. Despite a runtime under two hours it earns praise for its emotional depth with 85% of 150 user reviews on Metacritic calling it “heartfelt” or “memorable.” The lack of combat or complex mechanics lets the conversation-driven narrative breathe making it a brief but impactful experience for players seeking story over spectacle.

Storyline

It’s a cold, rainy evening. You are a computer technician who specializes in mainframe repair. As you start to settle in for the evening, you get a phone call from your co-worker. She asks you to come down and work on that one mainframe at the library; that old, buggy, stubborn model from 1995. The one that will most likely get shut down if it can’t be repaired. You don’t want to leave her hanging, so you begrudgingly head on over. As you start to work on the mainframe, however, it becomes quite clear that there is more to this mainframe than some minor glitches…
