You're the operator of a subway train 83 feet underground. The 19 Line runs through tunnels older than the continent itself, and tonight you're caught in a centuries-old ritual. A procession moves through the darkness demanding your attention. Stop the train and risk catastrophe. Keep going and ignore the growing unease. Choices matter in this 90-minute narrative about duty, fear, and what lies beneath concrete and steel. Nico Saraintaris crafted this indie horror vignette for inkJam 2020. The game leans into claustrophobic tension through minimal text and ambient noise design. Players navigate a branching story where every decision feels weighty despite the short runtime. With no combat or action, the horror comes from isolation and the creeping sense you're not in control. The 19 Line isn't just a subway line, it's a character in itself, whispering secrets to those who listen below the surface.
Deep below the surface, there’s an annual night procession through dark, ancient tunnels. These tunnels are supposed to be older than the colonization of the Americas, and they cross a segment of the 19 Line. Subway drivers from the 19 know they must never stop, especially on the night of the procession. You believe you have the moral high ground... But you drive a train 83 feet below the surface!
