You play a defender stationed in orbit fending off endless alien waves in this 1998 PC and Mac shooter. The gameplay is straightforward, aim shoot repeat, but the fast paced action and escalating difficulty keep things tense. Each level piles on more enemies with varied attack patterns forcing you to dodge and fire in quick succession. Released at the turn of the century this title tried to bring the classic arcade shooter formula into 3D. While the graphics feel dated now the core loop of survival and precision shooting holds up. Some players note the lack of depth beyond single player but others appreciate the no frills approach. A relic of early space shooters that still works for quick bursts of chaotic fun.
