3D Ghost Attack! is a first-person shooter that leans into its spooky premise with chaotic energy. You wander a haunted house wielding a photobeam weapon while ghosts pop from walls, floors, and ceilings. The Atari 2600 struggles to keep up with the action but the red-and-blue anaglyph visuals add a fuzzy retro-3D effect. The game exists in three incomplete prototypes each offering fragments of a single level. Playable versions feel more like experimental tech demos than finished adventures. This title exists as a footnote in gaming history. Originally designed for an unreleased Amiga peripheral it ended up on a cartridge that also featured two other half-baked 3D experiments. The use of anaglyph technology made it unusual for 1983 though the hardware limitations keep it from reaching true engaging potential. It’s a curious artifact for collectors and a challenge for completionists with its fragmented state and niche presentation.
