This compilation packs five familiar games into a portable package. Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Reversi and a dice game called Yacht are all here. Play solo against the AI or go head to head locally using split screen. Each title has its own difficulty range though Yacht lacks skill settings. Chess offers the deepest challenge with six tiers while others max at three. The Game Gear's screen handles all the visuals just fine for quick sessions. The collection leans heavily on tried and true formulas. No flashy twists but solid implementations of each core mechanic. Released in 1994 it feels like a physical board game box converted for on the go play. The split screen mode remains functional if a bit blocky by today's standards. Players looking to kill time with classic strategy titles might find value in the variety. Four of the five entries have stood the test of time better than the sixth.
