About

6 Inch My Darling is a visual novel that mixes slice-of-life charm with a touch of magical mischief. As a high schooler, you stumble upon a box holding a tiny figurine and cryptic letter, setting off a story where you guide one of three 6-inch-tall fairies through your daily life. Choices shape interactions, unlocking events and potential romantic outcomes with the chosen fairy or a human classmate. The Sega Saturn version remains family-friendly while the PC release adds mature content, altering some story beats. The game balances mundane routines with fantasy elements, letting you navigate quirky scenarios as the fairies clash with your family and friends. Three distinct fairies offer varied playstyles, each with unique quirks and dialogue. Released in late 1998 by KID and published by Airyu, it leans into late-90s visual novel tropes with a nostalgic, lighthearted tone. Its split versions and branching paths have kept it a niche curiosity among retro fans.

Storyline

You play a high school student living with your parents and younger sister. On your way back from school, you stumble across a mysterious wooden box containing a strange figurine and an old letter. Thus your adventure begins... Basically, this is a dating game, where you get to chaperone one of three 6-inch tall fairies from another world as they go about exploring your world (and sometimes making quite a mess while they're at it). Depending on how you do, you unlock various scenes/events throughout the game and maybe get a happy ending with the girl of your dreams. Along the way, you'll also be juggling your unsuspecting family and friends, including a real life female classmate who might turn out to be a love interest as well if you play your cards right.
