9th Sentinel Sisters is an indie post-apocalyptic strategy game developed by Live Wire, released on PC in September 2025. Set in a world ravaged by an alien lifeform called "Bleed," players control "Father", a massive manned weapon piloted by clone girls. The focus is on resource management, weapon upgrades, and tactical combat to clear stages. The story follows humanity’s last stand in underground "Arks" as they fight to reclaim Earth’s surface. It’s a niche blend of sci-fi survival and turn-based planning, aimed at players who enjoy deep progression systems and grim narratives.
Each session revolves around piloting Father through stages filled with alien "breeds," using a mix of ranged and melee weapons. Players allocate resources to upgrade armor, ammunition, and special abilities between missions. Combat is semi-real-time with strategic pauses to issue commands, requiring quick reflexes and planning. Clone pilots have unique traits that influence mission dynamics, like healing bonuses or damage resistance. Stages often force you to balance risk and reward, overextending can drain resources, but holding back lets enemies overwhelm you. Controls are responsive but require precision, especially during fast-paced boss fights.
9th Sentinel Sisters holds a 82% critic score and 4.3/5 average user rating. 65% of players complete the main campaign, with an average playtime of 15 hours. The community mood is mostly determined, with some frustration around grind-heavy upgrades. Snippets praise its "tense resource management" and "replayable build systems," though 20% of reviews cite a "steeper learning curve than advertised." 100+ achievements are available, including 12% completion for "Clearing All Stages Without Saving." Hardcore strategy fans give it 5/5, while casual players often rate it 3/5 for difficulty.
Worth a playthrough if you’re into tactical survival and don’t mind grinding for upgrades. At $29.99, it’s a mid-tier buy with 100+ achievements for completionists. The clone-pilot mechanic and stage-specific strategies keep it engaging, but the punishing resource management might deter newcomers. Stick with it past the first 10 hours to unlock late-game weapon combos, those who thrive on optimization will find it rewarding. Not a genre classic, but solid for niche fans of post-apocalyptic mechs.
A long time ago, an unknown meteorite came to earth. The meteorite was sleeping quietly deep in the earth, waiting for the time to wake up. 10,000 years have passed, and when humans have built civilization, a change occurs in the meteorite. Countless alien "breeds" are born from the meteorite and quickly devour the planet. The true identity of the meteorite was the egg of an alien life form. The land above is destroyed, and national functions disappear. Humanity is defeated. Those left behind are forced to live in sturdy underground shelters. The shelter was named "Ark" and became humanity's last stronghold. In order to take back the land, humanity has gathered its wisdom and materials and developed two "anti-bleed" combat weapons. One is the manned weapon “Father” One is a combat clone soldier with the appearance of a girl who becomes Father's pilot. They live in a deserted front-line base and then go off to fight.
