A Date in the Park is a brief point-and-click mystery where you play Lou, a recent Lisbon transplant whose planned meetup with a new acquaintance takes a disquieting turn. The game unfolds entirely within a sunlit park, where mundane details, overheard conversations, weathered benches, a distant street performer, gradually warp into something uncanny. Simple inventory puzzles and dialogue choices drive the story, though the true hook lies in piecing together why the scene feels increasingly wrong. The game’s strength is its tight atmosphere. Though under an hour long, it uses subtle environmental shifts and deadpan humor to build unease. Player forums often cite the contrast between the idyllic setting and creeping oddness as its standout trait. A small but praised experiment in tone over scope, it’s worth playing for the eerie payoff alone.
You are Lou. You've recently moved to Lisbon, Portugal, to take up a new job and start a new life. Within days of arriving, you meet an enchanting woman, Catarina, at a bar on a night out. After a lovely evening, you agree to meet her the next day in her favourite park. You arrive at the stunning park on a beautiful sunny day with high hopes. Lou soon realises the atmosphere is a little off... it's not going to be an average date.
