A Twisted Tale is a point-and-click adventure where you follow Vio as she stumbles through surreal worlds. The game throws her into crumbling cities, jungle-bound pirate ships, and other bizarre locations filled with cryptic puzzles. Dialogue drips with dry wit and absurdist humor while the story meanders through meta nods to retro gaming tropes. Controls stick to basic clicking but the environmental puzzles demand lateral thinking. The game leans hard into its love letter to 90s PC adventures without getting bogged down in nostalgia. Community playtests note the difficulty spikes can feel uneven but the writing and visuals more than make up for it. With a runtime of around 8-10 hours most players finish with a mix of frustration and admiration for its audacious tone. The inclusion of a sardonic Death character who openly resents his job adds one of many unpredictable twists.

Storyline

Discover a humouristic point and click adventure inspired by all the masterpieces which made us stick to our computers back in the day (and therefore we played outside way too infrequently). Full of loony characters, unexpected twists and challenging riddles. Accompany Vio on her unintentional journey through various realms. Explore broken cities, pirate ships in the deepest jungle and other unreal places. Stand by her side when she makes the acquaintance of the (depressive) Death and engage with lots of explicit and ambiguous references, hommages and imitations of the big classics past (and not quite past) times.
