Abyssals drops you into a single player survival city builder set on the dark ocean planet Abyss-62e. You start with little more than hope and a few basic structures while trying to establish a human colony in water that refuses to let light penetrate deep enough for comfort. Your main job involves scavenging scarce resources, expanding your underground infrastructure, and managing power to keep your lamps burning against the crushing dark. The game forces you to balance survival needs with the constant threat lurking just beyond the reach of your artificial light. The real tension comes from the atmosphere of an inhospitable world that offers no second chances for bad planning. Players often mention how the resource scarcity creates a feeling of genuine dread when your power grid starts to fail. The project aims to build a new civilization, but the environment fights back at every turn with hidden dangers and limited supplies. It is not about finding a paradise but rather scraping by in a place where survival is the only victory condition available.

Storyline

In the wake of Earth's devastation, Humanity sent various expeditions to Abyss-62e, a newly discovered ocean class planet and the only hospitable one within its reach. The objective of the Abyssal Colonization Project was to lay the foundations of a new Human civilization. However, it quickly became apparent that this was not the underwater heaven we expected it to be.
