Accele Brid is a fast paced shooter where you control a robot speeding through a pipeline blasting enemies with twin arm cannons. You can jump kick and punch while collecting power-ups to boost weapons and armor. Three distinct robots are available each with their own playstyle and you select your loadout before each stage. The game uses Mode 7 effects to create smooth scrolling levels as you chase through the track. The story follows a racer seeking revenge after terrorists kidnap his girlfriend during a competition. Three difficulty settings keep the challenge fresh and the mix of racing and combat was unusual for 1993. As a Tomy published title from Genki it has a cult following among retro fans. The action stays relentless with destructible environments and varied enemy types to keep you moving forward.

Storyline

Its the 23rd year of the Maimyo era. The 16th Accelebrid tournament is about to start at the G. Bowman Special Circuit. Ginei, the pilot of the Silver Mare, is getting ready for the first race. During the race a group of terrorists attack, taking control of the tracks obstacles and kidnaps Ginei's girlfriend, who also happens to be the team leader of the racing team. Filled with nothing but vengeance, Ginei arms his racing mech and heads in pursuit.
