Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception brings the flight sim series to the PSP with a single-player campaign where you lead a squadron against an invading force. Missions shift based on your chosen strategies thanks to the Strategic AI System keeping each run fresh. Online multiplayer lets up to four players clash in free-for-all fights or team-based battles. The controls feel responsive for dogfights though the portable screen can make spotting small targets tricky. The game mixes real-world jets with custom designs offering plenty of gear to tweak. Cutscenes use CG to push the story forward without heavy voice acting. While the 2006 release shows some age in graphics the tight combat and strategy-based missions still hold up.
