Action News Heroes

About

Action News Heroes is a co-op multiplayer shooter where you and up to three friends play mercenaries hired to sabotage a rogue army on live television. Your missions involve hijacking broadcasts, planting explosives during news segments, and generally causing chaos while maintaining Network X’s polished on-air image. Gameplay blends third-person combat with timed objectives, requiring teamwork to stage high-octane attacks that balance efficiency and showmanship. Each level ends with a ratings score based on how well you executed the chaos. The game stands out for its absurdly campy premise and fast-paced co-op mechanics. It leans hard into over-the-top action and satirical takes on media manipulation, though its 2016 release means it’s now largely forgotten by the broader gaming community. While not a technical marvel, it offers a niche charm for groups looking for chaotic local play. The focus on coordinated mayhem keeps matches lively, even if the story remains delightfully convoluted.
