Adhoc Party is a connectivity tool that lets PlayStation Portable games use internet-based multiplayer instead of local ad-hoc connections. Designed for PSP and PS3 users, it acts as a bridge between devices converting supported titles into online experiences. Players can team up or compete remotely without needing physical proximity. The setup requires a PS3 as a relay point for PSPs to communicate over the web. Launched in late 2009 this utility extended the lifespan of PSP party games by adding remote play options. While limited to specific titles it provided a workaround for early portable console internet limitations. Sony positioned it as a way to keep ad-hoc favorites relevant as online gaming became more common. Casual players appreciated the flexibility of connecting across rooms or continents.
