Aeon Flux started as a PlayStation title from Cryo Interactive before cancellation struck in 1997. This version drew loose inspiration from The Demiurge episode and even featured creator Peter Chung at E3 to promote it. Viacom New Media planned the release until corporate reshuffling folded the publisher into Virgin, which immediately scrapped the project. The team later repurposed the engine for a game called PAX Corps that launched in Europe to lukewarm reception. No US version ever saw the light of day under the Aeon Flux name despite GT Interactive holding the license rights afterward. What makes this entry notable is how it represents a specific era of failed adaptations rather than a playable experience available today. You cannot actually play this game through standard means since it never shipped with its original branding. The existence of PAX Corps stands as the only tangible proof that development reached a near-complete state before the cut. Historical records show how licensing battles and studio mergers can kill a project mid-production. This title remains a footnote in gaming history rather than a product you can buy or stream.
