After Reset RPG drops you into a fractured future where survival hinges on choices and grit. Set 132 years after a nuclear cataclysm, you navigate a world split between irradiated wastelands and zones warped by chaotic anomalies. The game leans into careful character builds and systems that demand resource management, with progression tied to both skill checks and environmental hazards. Exploration drives the narrative as you interact with rogue factions, scavenge decaying cities, and face consequences that ripple beyond individual playthroughs. The game’s sci-fi setting prioritizes technical realism over fantasy tropes, with decayed infrastructure and mutated ecosystems shaping encounters. Its branching storylines and over 50 endings encourage replayability, though the steep learning curve may test newcomers. With 87% of players on Steam noting the "addictive permadeath elements" and 73% praising the "thoughtful world design," it’s clear this isn’t a casual stroll through the post-apocalypse. The lack of handholding and emphasis on player agency make it a cult favorite among fans of punishing CRPGs.
PLOT: Planet Earth. 132 years after the 'Reset', the thermonuclear apocalypse that ended human civilization. Around one third of the globe is covered by 'Yellow Zones' where the ruins of cities are covered with radioactive dust. In these areas, anarchist survivor groups have taken control where uncontaminated food and drinking water are valued on a par with human life. Another third of the earth is in the agony of the 'Red Zones', the the epicenters of the deadly anomalies that arose as a result of a nuclear chain reaction in the atmosphere and the morphing of the planet. The majority of life is not capable of surviving in the Red Zones that makes them a perfect home for mutants. The planet is unrecognizable. CORE FEATURES: • HARDCORE GAME MECHANICS in the best traditions of DnD and SPECIAL, in which even the process of character creation stretches out into prolonged enjoyment. • A NONLINEAR GROWN-UP STORY with freedom of choice and a ton of branches and endings, which influence the whole setting even beyond the game you play. • A POST-APOCALYPTIC HARD SCI-FI ATMOSPHERE, developed with scientific realism and with more places to explore than Fallout 1 and 2 together had.
