"For a game this ambitious, I am incredibly impressed with what was accomplished! Sure, it’s quite rough around the edges, but what’s on offer here can’t be understated. Assault Spy is a highly enjoyable action game with quirky characters and an excellent combat system. Though some story and design issues prevent the game from being a truly great title. Even so, the game even continues to receive updates almost two years after its release, which is highly commendable! Whether you’ll enjoy the game or not depends on what kind of a gamer you are. If you enjoy games with a slower pace, you’re probably going to get overwhelmed by the game’s frantic pace. But if you find yourself yearning for a deep combat system that rewards experimentation, I certainly recommend Assault Spy!"

Air Assault is a 1993 arcade shoot 'em up that pits you against the Fourth Empire's forces across eight stages. Pilot a fighter jet through waves of tanks, aircraft, and floating turrets while dodging projectiles. Progress unlocks power-ups from capsules that let you swap between four weapon types. Each has its own spread and range so you'll need to adapt as hordes of enemies and towering bosses close in. The game’s variety keeps things fresh with options like the Balkan gun’s straight barrage or the grenade’s omnidirectional spray. Missiles and a screen-clearing bomb add tactical depth. Co-op mode lets two players team up for easier runs or just more chaos. While it shares DNA with other shooters of the era the mix of fast action and upgrade variety makes it a solid choice for those who enjoy classic arcade challenges.
