About

Airline Pilots drops you in the cockpit of a Boeing 777, letting you handle takeoffs, landings, and everything in between. Developed with input from Japan Airlines staff, it leans hard into realism with detailed flight mechanics and cockpit layouts. The arcade version comes in two flavors: a standard sit-down setup or the DX model, which uses three wide monitors to frame your view like a real jet’s windshield. Precision matters here, tiny mistakes can spell disaster. The game’s reputation for difficulty made it a tough sell in arcades. Many units got swapped to Sega’s Strike Fighter title instead, making original Airline Pilots cabinets rare finds today. Still, it’s a respected relic among flight sim fans for its authenticity and the way it captures the weight of real-world aviation responsibilities. If you spot one, expect a challenge that rewards calm hands and sharp focus.
