"Adventure Pop is no doubt one of the strongest entries in its genre, but it is very much held back by being released on a system where it has few fans. While the already convinced will love it, it will be difficult to make those sceptical towards the genre start playing it, as it at first glance looks like a copy of every other bubble shooter game. Those who do play it, though, will be met by one of the most cleverly designed games in the genre, with plenty of wonderful and creative mechanics that are made to make sense thanks to the story."

Airs Adventure is a 1997 adventure game that mixes turn-based combat with a narrative about a knight wrongly accused of treason. You play as Henry a knight whose execution is halted by a princess who believes in his innocence. The pair teams up to clear his name while exploring European-inspired lands. Battles happen on a separate screen where you issue commands from a menu choosing attacks spells or defenses. The system is straightforward with basic stats and limited party size but emphasizes pacing over complexity. The game stands out for its blend of pre-rendered 2D character models against 3D environments a technique that felt fresh in 1997. Its over-the-shoulder camera adds depth to exploration but combat remains rooted in classic RPG simplicity. Developed by Game Studio and released exclusively on Sega Saturn it’s a relic of mid-90s design priorities. While its story hinges on familiar tropes the execution feels brisk and focused avoiding bloat. Niche but functional for players curious about early polygon experimentation.
