About

Alan Sharp casts you as a down-on-his-luck 1970s detective dragged back into the field by a friend’s plea. A small town’s quiet facade cracks open after a boy’s gruesome death and his parents’ disappearance. You sift through the Regans’ decaying home, chase down cryptic rumors, and piece together clues through environmental details and half-truths. The game blends methodical puzzle-solving with survival mechanics, letting you manage resources while avoiding encounters that escalate the danger. The first-person perspective and lack of hand-holding make every breakthrough feel earned. The game’s strongest moments come from its oppressive atmosphere and psychological unease. Instead of jump scares, it builds dread through distorted audio logs, flickering lights, and Alan’s own figuring out psyche. Players note the 70s setting feels lived-in, with period-accurate details and a lack of modern conveniences. While the open-ended investigation can feel slow, many praise its commitment to realism and the way it weaves Alan’s personal trauma into the central mystery. Community feedback often highlights the game’s mood and narrative depth, though some cite pacing issues and sparse hints as potential hurdles.
