"We really wanted Wander to be brilliant, but unfortunately, it comes across as half-baked, lacking in things to do, and underwhelming in almost every area. The developer, Wander MMO, had some grand ideas for this title – but for the most part, it's been poorly executed. There is potential here for a compelling experience – perhaps after some significant patching – but for now, it doesn't quite reach the developer's lofty, risky goals."

Alexander lets you command armies during the historic conquests of Alexander the Great. Choose from Greek, Persian, Indian, or Egyptian forces and wage battles across four distinct campaigns. The game uses a hybrid 2D/3D engine that crams hundreds of units onto the battlefield at once without lag. Maneuver phalanxes, war elephants, and archers in real time while managing resources and terrain to outflank opponents. Skirmish modes and multiplayer matches add replay value beyond the single player story. The game’s biggest draw is its ability to scale massive battles smoothly, a rarity for 2004 RTS titles. While the campaigns follow a familiar narrative arc, the depth of unit interactions and large-scale combat keeps matches dynamic. A soundtrack by Vangelis ties the game to its film inspiration, though the 20-year-old graphics engine shows its age. Still the sheer number of troops on screen and the tactical flexibility remain impressive for a lesser-known strategy title.
