Alien Blast: The Encounter is a first person shooter where you control a fixed turret on a remote planet. You spin around to take down waves of aliens arriving by land and air from all directions. The radar shows approaching threats while you fire at targets that close in fast. Between attacks a friendly ship called the UMBK drops power-ups like shields and weapons to help you survive. The action happens in one location but the intensity builds as waves grow tougher with more varied enemies. This 2003 PC game has a retro arcade vibe with simple controls and repetitive but tense gameplay. Community ratings show it works best for short bursts rather than long sessions. The single player campaign lasts around four hours with limited variety in maps or enemy types. What matters most is the tight shooting loop and the challenge of managing ammo and power-ups under pressure. Some players compare it to classic turret defense games from the early 2000s.
On planet Rexus, located on the far edge of the galaxy a distress call has been sent out. When an Allied Forces freighter arrives to investigate they find that everyone on the planet is dead or has left and the full content of the distress call is a warning to stay away from the planet. Unfortunately it's too late for the Allied Forces investigators, as a large force of alien creatures is spotted incoming on the radar. The only hope is to man the few remaining turret weapons left behind on the planet and destroy all waves of the attack.
