This title is a single-player adventure that serves as a direct sequel to the original Alien film. You play as Ellen Ripley aboard the Nostromo while the rest of your crew lies dead. The Creative Assembly developed this experience and Feral Interactive published it back in October 2014. It launched on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Linux, and Mac systems. Your goal is simple yet terrifying. You must trigger the ship's self-destruct sequence and reach an escape shuttle before the alien kills you or the oxygen runs out. It captures the exact tension of that final movie scene without adding unnecessary filler.
You navigate the claustrophobic corridors of the Nostromo while avoiding a relentless predator. The game forces you to interact with environmental controls like coolant cylinders and engineering lockdowns to progress. You need Parker's keycard from his corpse to unlock specific doors leading toward the self-destruct mechanism. Movement feels heavy and tense because you cannot fight back directly against the creature. Instead you rely on stealth, hiding in lockers or running through tight spaces. The AI learns your patterns so staying still or changing routes becomes vital. Sessions involve constant backtracking as you verify areas are clear before moving forward. Controls map directly to standard action-adventure inputs without complex mechanics or puzzles beyond logic and timing.
PlayPile data shows this title holds an IGDB score of 89.9 out of 100 based on 14 ratings. Community members report high completion rates for the story mode since it follows a linear path. Average playtime sits around three hours as the experience is short but intense. Players frequently cite anxiety and dread as the dominant moods during sessions. Review snippets often mention how the game successfully recreates the film atmosphere without feeling like a cash grab. The community appreciates the lack of multiplayer distractions since it remains strictly single-player. Achievement hunters note that finishing the game unlocks a specific ending related to Ripley's final broadcast. No other site tracks these specific mood metrics or completion statistics for this title.
This is a solid pick if you want a short, scary ride through the Nostromo setting. The price point varies by platform but remains accessible on most consoles and PC. You will earn an achievement upon completing the final broadcast scene. Players who dislike linear stories might find it too restrictive since there is no open world to explore. The game does not offer long-term engagement beyond the main narrative path. It works best as a focused horror experience rather than a sandbox survival sim. Buy this if you want to relive the movie sequence with interactive tension and nothing else.
It begins with a shot of Mother processing data and displaying the text "INTERFACE 2037 READY FOR INQUIRY. EVALUATION OF POTENTIAL PROCEDURES TO TO ESCAPE NOSTROMO." The screen then cuts to black and recalls the remaining crew's discussion on how they will take their chances in the shuttle. The screen then cuts to Ripley in the shuttle docking bay contacting Parker regarding the coolant cylinders. A short while later Ripley hears the Alien attack the two, with Ripley hearing their frantic screams. As she reaches them on C Deck, she realizes she's too late, only finding her fellow crewmembers' corpses in the room. She takes Parker's keycard from his body to unlock the door to engineering control. There, she is able to reverse a ship lockdown to access the area where the Self destruct system is located. Ripley arrives at the destination and initiates the self destruct system. The game then replicates the sequence in the original movie in which Ripley runs through the corridors of a perishing Nostromo under the duress of the Alien. As she manages to get on board the Narcissus, the screen fades to black and then cuts to a screen of the Narcissus broadcast system, with Ripley's voice being heard. She then delivers her final monologue seen at the end of the original movie: "Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo. Third officer reporting. The other members of the crew - Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas, are dead. Cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off." As the screen fades to black a second time, an extra line of dialogue can be heard: "I'll see you soon Amanda. Be a good girl, I love you."
