About

Alien Resurrection throws you into a claustrophobic sci-fi horror scenario where survival hinges on switching between four characters with distinct tools. Each level tasks you with navigating a crumbling science ship while fending off xenomorphs, using limited resources and environmental puzzles to stay alive. Ripley’s clone leads a ragtag team through corridors teeming with enemies, balancing combat with stealth and quick thinking. The game leans heavily on its movie tie-in, offering a direct adaptation of the film’s plot but with gameplay focused on tense, methodical progression over action set pieces. Despite its ambitious setup, Alien Resurrection became a casualty of shifting industry tides. The Sega Saturn version was abandoned mid-development, and planned PC and Dreamcast ports never materialized due to weak sales. Community reception remains mixed, with some praising its atmospheric tension and character differentiation while others cite stiff controls and repetitive design. Released in 2000, it’s now a niche artifact of early 2000s FPS experimentation.

Storyline

Two hundred years after the events of Alien³, Lieutenant Ellen Ripley is cloned by military scientists interested in the Alien Queen she had become a host for. Like the "Company" from the earlier films, the military intends to use the Queen to breed a force of bio-weapons. But then something goes wrong; the Aliens they are studying manage to escape, and swarm throughout the science ship. It's up to four stranded heroes - Ripley, Call, DiStephano and Christie - to wipe out the Aliens, and return the ship safely to Earth.
