Almana no Kiseki is a 2D platformer where you play Kaito, a thief chasing another thief through six claustrophobic cave levels. You start with a stock of throwing knives and slowly collect new tools like bombs, handguns, and a screen-clearing crystal ball. Each level is a gauntlet of enemy soldiers, cave creatures, and environmental hazards. You can only hold a few weapons at a time, forcing you to manage pickups strategically. The challenge comes from tight platforming, limited lives, and enemies that sometimes drop your next upgrade. The game stands out for its weapon progression and punishing difficulty. While not as well known as other Konami titles, it’s a solid example of 1980s platformer design. The Famicom Disk System format allowed for larger levels and better sound than cartridges could handle at the time. Players who enjoy resource management and precise jumping will find something here, even if the stone villagers and vague plot are mostly forgotten now.
