Altarium is a first-person horror game where players pick sides in a battle for survival. Up to five people team up as researchers trapped in a town, relying on cooperation to escape. One or more players take control of the mystical jewel’s guardian, hunting them down with asymmetrical abilities. The twist is the roles shift: defenders must trust each other while the predator uses environmental traps and supernatural powers to ensure no one leaves alive. The game stands out for its tense balance between teamwork and betrayal. The story-driven setup, where a power-hungry scientist lures a team into a death trap, adds stakes to every encounter. With split-second decisions and shifting loyalties, it thrives on chaos. Launching October 21, 2024, it’s available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Early access builds hint at a design that rewards quick thinking over brute force.

Storyline

Dr. William, who is a slave to the desire for power, sends a research team consisting of Hannah Falkenhorst, Black Jack Kane, Grimroot, and Marco Rocio to the town of Golden Horn to obtain the Korion Jewel, which gives mystical powers to its owner. It doesn't take long for the research team, who are unaware of the powers of Korion, to realize that they are trapped in Goldenhorn. The guardian of the jewel with mystical powers has no intention of sending the team back alive. In this exciting adventure where the roles of hunter and prey are reversed, join the team of bounty hunters and try to survive through cooperation, or direct the jewel guardian and defeat the bounty hunters. To win this challenge, take on the role of good or evil, take control of your destiny, and survive no matter what!
