Amid the Lines is a fast-paced beat ’em up with a narrative-driven single-player campaign. You play as a no-nonsense detective tasked with uncovering a conspiracy at a powerful chemical company. The story unfolds through direct action, you punch, kick, and brawl through waves of enemies in tight corridors and industrial settings. Combat emphasizes timing and aggression, with a focus on relentless melee strikes and environmental objects. The plot takes backseat to the chaos, but it leans into classic noir tropes of political cover-ups and moral gray areas. The game’s strength lies in its pure, unfiltered brawling. Each fight feels kinetic, with satisfying hit detection and a lack of fancy combos that let you focus on raw carnage. While the story is straightforward, the stakes feel personal, and the setting’s sterile corporate aesthetics contrast nicely with the messy violence. It’s a short experience clocking in under four hours, but the aggression and simplicity of the gameplay loop keep it engaging. Players looking for deep storytelling won’t find it here, this is about getting a kick in the ribs and throwing a chair as hard as possible.
Detective Northwood gets assigned by the FBI to investigate a chemical company for the suspicion of a terrorist attack on the city, but the company he is investigating belongs to one of the most important figures in the whole country. But that won’t stop him , as he knows the risk is too high to begin worrying about politics. He will break every bone and spill every drop of blood and kill if he has to ,to save the souls of innocent people.
