Amoeba Battle: Microscopic RTS Action flips the script on traditional real-time strategy by ditching bases and building for a biology-themed twist. You steer a squad of amoebas that split into duplicates through binary fission, letting you rapidly expand your forces with a button press. The catch is these creatures need to scavenge food to grow and reproduce, balancing survival mechanics with combat. As battles heat up, you’ll trigger mutations to upgrade weaklings into specialized variants like speedsters or tanks. Managing a roster of evolving units while adapting to shifting terrain creates a tense, dynamic flow that keeps matches unpredictable. What sets this apart is its lean, accessible take on RTS chaos. The mutation system offers surprising depth without overwhelming menus, and co-op or PvP modes amplify the mayhem. Running on PC and consoles since 2020, it’s a quirky entry in the genre with a 72% critic score on Metacritic. Players praise its inventive core loop but note the single-player campaign feels brief. Still, the bite-sized matches and zany aesthetic make it a standout pick for fans of fast-paced strategy with a scientific slant.
First though, your amoebas must forage for food in the beautiful yet alien environments that make up their world. Once well fed, these amoebas can replicate into two identical amoebas of the same type, doubling your army with a press of a button! But multiplying amoebas won't always be enough. You will need to introduce mutations to evolve your weaker amoebas into stronger species. Experiment with different amoeba combinations to field a diverse force that can face any threat!
