Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari-Arm casts you as a pilot fighting off an alien invasion in 1993’s Sega CD shooter. The game follows a straightforward side-scrolling format where you maneuver a space jet that can transform into a robot mode called Bari-Arm. Each stage throws waves of enemy ships at you while you blast through waves with missiles, lasers, and spread shots. Collecting power-ups from downed foes keeps you alive longer as you take on the Xias’ fleet before they reach Earth. The game’s biggest hook is its morphing mechanic which lets you switch between flight and mech forms mid-level to tackle different threats. While the visuals and sound hold up for retro Sega CD standards, the difficulty spikes quickly. Community reviews note the challenge can feel unfair at times but fans of classic shooters appreciate the fast-paced action. Released nearly three decades ago, it remains a niche pick for those craving old-school bullet-hell combat.
