Anett Futatabi is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you guide a warrior through waves of enemies using a sword and magical abilities. Each level pushes her forward toward a boss encounter, with combat centered around timing strikes and managing an energy meter. Spend the meter for stronger attacks that scale with available power, including a move that clears the screen. The game functions as the third entry in a series, continuing a narrative about a pendant tied to a larger conflict. The magic system stands out for its simplicity and payoff, refilling the energy meter organically through play lets you unleash bigger hits without grinding. Released in 1993 on Sega CD, it offers straightforward action with a focus on relentless progression. Single-player only, it leans into the genre’s classic formula with a few mechanical twists to keep things fresh.
The story takes place two years after El Viento. After being rescued from certain sacrifice by Earnest Evans, Annet travels across Europe and encounters a group that wants a pendant in her possession. After being ambushed by them she escapes and begins a quest to protect the world from destruction.
