You’re piloting a ship at the bottom of the screen as waves of aliens descend. Your only goal is to blast as many targets as possible before your single life runs out. Move left and right to dodge attacks fire your weapon to clear enemies each wave growing faster and denser. Simple controls focus the action on raw reflexes and quick decision making. Annihilator leans into 80s arcade urgency with minimal frills. It plays like a streamlined space shooter stripped to its core mechanics. Released in 1982 it fits snugly with Commodore’s early library of fast paced action titles. The lack of extra modes or polish feels intentional making it feel like a direct challenge to see how long you can survive. On C64VIC-20 setups it remains a no nonsense test of aim and speed.
