Anti-Ballistic-Missile is a 1982 DOS arcade shooter where you guard six cities from incoming enemy strikes. The screen shows a grid representing the IBM east coast, with your cursor acting as a targeting tool. When missiles launch, you fire interceptors to explode them mid-flight by positioning your cursor near their path. Each successful hit prevents damage but you only get three lives total. Faster reactions and precise timing keep your cities intact as waves escalate. Skill levels adjust missile speed and how close you must get to destroy threats. The game’s stripped-down design masks its difficulty curve, later levels demand near-perfect focus. While rudimentary by today’s standards, it’s a clear ancestor to modern defense shooters. Chances are if you’ve played Missile Command, you’ve already played this.
