Aoi Tori is a visual novel set at Kirihara Academy for Girls, a remote boarding school in Japan’s mountains. You play as Shiratori Ritsu, the lone male student and school priest tasked with fending off demons. His routine is upended by Mary Harker, a vampire claiming to be 100 years old, and an unexpected call from the devil himself. The story weaves through Ritsu’s struggle to balance his role as a protector with his growing doubts about his purpose, all while navigating the tension between sacred duty and human desires. Choices matter here, though the branching paths lean more toward thematic reflection than action. What lingers is the contrast between the quiet school setting and the heavy themes of guilt, identity, and existential crisis. The character dynamics, particularly Ritsu’s fraught relationship with Mary, anchor the narrative, blending supernatural intrigue with emotional weight. While it’s a slow burn, the game’s focus on internal conflict over spectacle earns it a dedicated following on niche forums. Players note the art style and soundtrack elevate key moments, though pacing may test patience.

This constant mix of the holy and the sinful has him just barely holding onto his sanity. And the sudden arrival of a new girl raises the curtain on a whole new story. For she is the one-hundred-year-old vampire, Mary Harker. However, her infiltration of the academy brings with it another surprise... Namely, a phone call from the devil.
