Ape Escape M is a mobile spin on the zany primate-chasing antics of the console series. You play as Spike, using a net to snag wild apes running amok in 2D overhead levels. Each stage requires capturing most of the apes to progress, with tools like a stun club, radar, and slingshot helping track and immobilize them. Scavenging for health items and extra lives adds urgency while some enemies must be fought rather than caught. Five worlds hold 121 apes to chase across varied environments. The game stands out for its interconnected level design, letting keys unlock hidden areas in prior stages to resupply or uncover secrets. Players can earn achievements tied to capture rates and exploration.
