Apollo X is a sci-fi horror adventure where your heart rate actually drives the gameplay. You play as Alex after a crash near Mars leaves you stranded on an abandoned ship. Your only contact is Max back at headquarters, and you must navigate dark corridors while hunting for clues about what happened to your team. The game works with Oculus Rift or PC, and it optionally connects to a mobile app that reads your biometrics. As your pulse spikes, the environment shifts to become more hostile and terrifying. The difficulty adapts in real time based on how frightened you are. What stands out is this direct link between your physical state and the game world. Most horror titles rely on scripted scares, but this one reacts to your actual fear levels. Players on PC have noted how unsettling it feels when the lights flicker harder just because you got scared. The biofeedback mechanic turns every jump scare into a personal challenge rather than a generic moment. It creates a tense loop where staying calm is as important as finding supplies. There are no safe zones if your heart rate stays high, making every decision feel weighty during those long moments of silence.
In the future of 2021, the International Space Station Agency (ISSA) has developed the Apollo X rescue team. A team dedicated to save malfunctioned spaceships in space. One day, Alex and her team were sent to to retrieve a stranded spaceship near Mars. But during their mission, their spaceship crashed into something. Alex woke up tp find herself in an abandoned spaceship with no one else in sight. With only Max, her sibling, supervising her from the ISSA's headquarters, she needs to find her team and a way out. But the questions remain, Is she alone? What sort of surprises awaits her in the deep dark areas of the spaceship? How did she get there?
