About

Arcade Archives: Arabian is a 1983 platformer re-released by HAMSTER in 2020. You play a boy racing to rescue a princess across four levels set on a ship, in a cave, over floating carpets, and outside a castle. Each stage requires collecting gold bags while dodging pink ghosts, black crows, and their merged forms. The game supports co-op for shared challenges or versus modes where players battle over collected items. Controls are tight for precise jumps and timing, with simple graphics that highlight the era’s charm. The game’s charm lies in its straightforward design and co-op options, which let friends team up or compete. While not a technical marvel by today’s standards, its challenge and retro aesthetic earned it a cult following. Archive entries like this often appeal to fans of classic arcade gameplay, with HAMSTER’s releases typically scoring around 4.1/5 on review sites. Short levels and optional score-attack modes keep replayability high for those chasing perfection.

Storyline

The Arabian princess has been kidnapped, and only you can save her by traversing through the four magical pages on which this story has been printed. Collect the bags of gold from a ship, a cave, a wall with magic carpets, and the outside of the castle where the princess is being held in order to rescue her. In your way are an army of pink ghosts and black crows, who will do everything in their power to stop you, even combining to form an even bigger enemy.
